Welcome to the home of Lily Rock Belgians, and Lily Rock Belgian Rescue. We're glad you stopped by to visit!
The name "Lily Rock" comes from the granite monolith seen on our entry page. A huge presence, it towers over the town of Idyllwild, CA. It's formal name is Taquitz Rock, but locals have always called it Lily Rock. I grew up in Idyllwild, and still consider it my spiritual homeplace.
My involvement with Belgians began in 1997, when I stopped to pick up a dog stranded on a Los Angeles freeway. She was young and beautiful, with long silky black hair. I kept this girl, and named her Nelly. I researched her breed, met more Belgians, and soon decided this was the breed for me! Now 8 years later I'm having a great time living and working with my own Belgians, and find myself immersed in Belgian rescue.
You can read about each of my dogs on their own pages, and I invite you to visit the rescue section as well. If you want to know more about me, suffice it to say I make my living working as a piano technician & rebuilder. I tune and maintain fine pianos, both in private homes and concert situations. Also, I restore wonderful classic Steinways and other quality grands in my workshop. If you ever need "piano advice", please don't hesitate to call!
I am very grateful to the friends and professional photographers who have given permission for their work to appear in these pages…thanks, gals and guys! And I'm especially grateful to friend and rescue partner Marie Bradley for using her skills to bring this website into being!
