Jester

1 yr. old neutered male
Salt Lake City, Utah

Affectionate, sweet and playful

Jester, the year old Malinois youngster, goes nose-to-nose with a goat

This affectionate young dog has a sweet, playful nature in spite of early neglect. Jester was dropped in a night drop box at a shelter in Washington, along with two of his beautiful littermates. They were starving and sick and nearly didn't make it. Thanks to the kindness of Montana GSD rescue all three were picked up and vetted and have recovered well.

His brother, Jester, is also available. The third pup is being kept by one of the foster homes.

Here is what Jester's fostermom has to say about him:

“Jester is a lower-key Malinois. He likes to stay busy, but is happy with a bone or chew toy. He would be a great dog for obedience or as an agility “starter-dog.”

Jester is the most amazingly sweet and loving dog I have ever met! Jester getting hugged by a child... and loving it! He loves to lean on people and get pets and give kisses. He is learning not to jump up, and mostly does it when he is not sure about what is going on. He plays very well with other dogs, gets along with cats (although he will watch them and does try to play with them)and would probably get along fine with a smaller dog as well. He will approach anybody and offer affection. He has no fear of men or women and is gentle with children as well!

He is only about a year old, and was likely never a house dog before. He needs to be supervised in the house to ensure he does not chew on an inappropriate object. He has no problem if you take something (even food) away from him. He is crate trained, is very good about coming when called; walks well on leash and is learning other commands.

He had no idea how to play with humans. He plays with toys by himself (throws them in the air, pounces on them, runs around the yard with them in his mouth, etc.) But now he is learning that humans can be played with as well!"

Jester is available through ABMC Rescue. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. For more information e-mail rescue coordinator Teri Meredyth or call 310-702-2389 .
